Space Invaders is quite simply the most influential video-game of all time. A single player moves an armed 'laser base' left or right along the bottom of the screen and shoots the endless waves of aliens marching relentlessly down the screen towards earth. There are four buildings (shields) at the bottom of the screen that the player can hide behind, but these will eventually be destroyed by either enemy missiles or by direct contact with the invaders themselves. The player's shots will also destroy the shields. The aliens' descent quickens as they are eliminated, making them harder to hit. A flying saucer will fly across the top of the screen at regular intervals and can be shot to earn extra points.

Chris Flynn, who has been described in this space as the Zany Wizard of Main St. in Metuchen, has done it again. Apparently not satisfied with having one of the most popular pubs in central Jersey, Flynn has expanded what he fondly calls "the craic" to include a new kind of entertainment--a Retro Arcade called HarpCade which is now an official part of the Hailey's Harp & Pub Experience.

Due to the extreme competitive nature of the Addams Family pinball machine at the Hailey's Harp-cade, we are excited to announce that we are looking for patrons to join our first ever ADDAMS FAMILY PINBALL LEAGUE! Tuesday November 1st will be our first meeting, and the league will run for 8 weeks. There will be 3 games played a night by each player, and at the end of 4 weeks the top 3 scores for each player will be tallied and eliminations will commence. Prize yet to be determined, all we ask as an entrance fee is $1 which will go to charity. If you are interested in joining this league please let us know, mark your calendars and show up on November 1st!
